There are two discussions of easter eggs on Stack Overflow: \u003Ca href=\"http:\u002F\u002Fstackoverflow.com\u002Fquestions\u002F140376\u002Fwhat-easter-eggs-have-you-placed-in-code\">What Easter Eggs have you placed in code\u003C\u002Fa>, and \u003Ca href=\"http:\u002F\u002Fstackoverflow.com\u002Fquestions\u002F4943\u002Fis-it-a-good-idea-to-put-easter-eggs-in-applications\">Is it a good idea to put Easter Eggs in applications?\u003C\u002Fa>\u003C\u002Fli>\n    \u003Cli>You could argue that a lot of modern large application features are effectively easter eggs because people can't find them! This is what motivated the move to the Ribbon UI in Office 2007. Nine out of ten feature requests for Office were \u003Cem>already in the product\u003C\u002Fem>. That's \u003Ca href=\"http:\u002F\u002Fwww.wired.com\u002Fsoftware\u002Fsoftwarereviews\u002Fnews\u002F2007\u002F01\u002F72596\">the ultimate easter egg\u003C\u002Fa>, and not in a good way.\u003C\u002Fli>\n    \u003Cli>The proposed Stack Overflow question bounty feature -- to help get those persistently unanswered questions some new attention -- has two gating clauses: first, you can only attach a small reputation bounty after 24 hours; second, the majority of the bounty will come from the asker's own reputation. You have to be willing to slice off a part of your own rep as a reward.\u003C\u002Fli>\n    \u003Cli>We noticed that Jason Calacanis of Mahalo will be \u003Ca href=\"http:\u002F\u002Fabcnews.go.com\u002FTechnology\u002FAheadoftheCurve\u002Fstory?id=6464889&page=1\">doing a Q&A site\u003C\u002Fa>. The difference is that this site will pay answerers in real money, part of what Joel calls Jason's Econ 101 management style. The danger is that financial incentives can destroy intrinsic motivation.
