In our 2017 Developer Survey, Python overtook PHP in our ranking of popular technologies for the first time in five years, with 32% of respondents reporting they use Python in their work. It was also among the top 10 “Most Loved” technologies and it was the #1 technology developers reported wanting to use in their work.
Python ranked high across our surveyed occupations, and it’s used regularly by web developers, desktop developers, sysadmin/devops, and Data Scientists/Engineers. While pay for Python hovered around the middle of the field in the U.S. and worldwide, it was the top-paying technology in France and Germany.
So we know a lot of you wish you were working with Python more than you are, and most of you have at least some experience in it. Here are some companies who are looking for Python developers right now.
